ANNUAL REPORT 2019 -2020

I take great pleasure in welcoming all of your on this special occasion of our annual day.
The academic year 2019 created an environment in the school which helped young mind to blossom and provided a platform for Individual thinking and holistic development.
MEETING AND SEMINARS:
In keeping with the school’s policy of continuous up gradation of knowledge and skills, our teachers attended various workshops and seminars organized by the school and others so as to improve their academic transaction skills and to update their capabilities. In the month of July meeting for parents were scheduled. During these meetings PTA members were elected. Our PTA provides parents and teachers with the opportunity to exchange views, work together and to develop mutual trust and confidence. ‘On world Mental Heath Day’ (10.01.2019) a programme on ‘Know Your Mind’ was held by Dr Praveen Narayanan and his team on account of the safety of Girl child. A defence session arranged by Janamaithri Authorities. A seminar on ‘Anti Plastics’ was conducted by Mr C k Mohan, [Suchithwa Mission District Assistant Co-coordinator]. An orientation class also arranged for parents by Mr Eldho Poulose.
Annual day celebration was held on 18.01.2019 at Vyabharabhavan Auditorium. Reading day was observed with these competitions – poster mooring, slogan writing and Book reading.
Environment Day observed and the students were given saplings.
Yoga Day was also observed. KCSL inauguration and Mount Carmel Feast were celebrated in the month of July.
Club Inauguration also arranged in the same month, by Fr Robin Rocky, Director of Don Bosco Hospital.
We celebrated Independence Day with great patriotism and also joined with rally of municipality.
Teachers day celebrated with variety of programmes. The whole school had an abundance of Joy on the occasion of Onam. The students of the school are divided into four different houses Emerald, Ruby, Pearl, and Sapphire. The Arts Fest was arranged on November 1st & 2nd and the students of each house had a healthy competition among them.
Scrilli Day, children’s Day, Kids Fest, Fruits Day and Sports Meet were celebrated in this month GICE’S Day was held on 05-12-2019. Christmas celebration also brought forth the happiness among teachers. PTA and students. Annual prize distribution was held on 06-01-2020 and we celebrated Republic Day and joined with the rally of Municipality and won the second prize.
Various co-curricular activities are held under different clubs to develop a child physically, morally and socially and to home skills in co-scholastic areas.
Social club conducted an anti drugs programme. A rally on Anti – Plastics arranged on November 14 and distributed cloth bag to the students. They initiated a poster making competition on’ HOW CAN I BE A GOOD CITIZEN’.
Eco club arranged an eye screening camp on 04-07-2019. A movie , ‘Aakashangalkkapuram’ shown to the children by the students film industry which could arose scientific spirit in the children. They gave awareness an ‘AIDS’ day by a poster making competition. Science exhibition scheduled on January 6th . The students also got an exposure an ‘space on wheels’ arranged by ISRO.
Literary club conducted Greeting card making competition and The Book Review. The students were given the guidance of Mrs Jisha, the PTA secretary on Art and Craft.
It club scheduled a photo shoot on January 6th and also taught a mime on misuse of mobile phones.
Maths club arranged chart making, numbers magic an quiz for the children.
I wished to begin with our performance on Academic Front. We are happy to share the details of the commendable performance of our students of class X f 2018. The result was 100% with students securing full A1, Kumari Gargi Rajan, Master Ashwajith, Jees Paul and Alex Robinson. Five of our students awarded in flying colours with 100% in social science and two were awarded for outstanding performance in the science subject with 100%.
I feel extremely proud to inform you that on 23rd September 2019 the Junior Red Cross unit started in our school. Our students participated in the ‘CBSE Kalotsav’ held at Thodupuzha and Muvattupuzha. They were awarded with certificates and the students performed mime won third prize in competition. Water bell was introduced in the month of August.
Pupils were participated in science quiz competition held by TIME. Three of our students and two teachers attended. “The Safe School Mission Kerala “ a camp organized by KELSA at Najath Public School. Students were also participated in the KCSL ‘ Sahitya Utsav’ held at Mathilakam School. With regard to the 15th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, our Red Cross students given an awareness to the society on Gandhian values with a street play.
SOCIAL AND PSIRITUAL ACTIVITIES
The school continuous its Journey to invite people to create more opportunities to inquire, share, experience and understand the interconnected world we living.
We conducted Holy Mass on the Re-opening day and we celebrated Mother of Mount Carmel Feast in the month of July. Holy Mass was conducted every month. In the month of October a week was devoted to the ‘Mother of Rosary’.
Our students have collected money for visually challenged people. To ensure that our students are well equipped with knowledge to face any challenge, we have focused sessions on visit of orphanages and old age homes.
Our Red Cross Unit visited ‘Samraksha’, an old age home and some of our other students visited a home of Mentally Retarded people. They themselves have collected and distributed the things needed for them. They made them happy with their various programme.
The picnics always infuses refreshments and positive energy in the students. Our annual picnic was arranged to silver storm, wonderla and Munnar in the month of December.
This report is a sincere attempt to showcase our progress in terms of achievements and activities during the year. On this memorable occasion as we recount our success with pride and happiness, we wish to dedicate all our achievements to the committed effort of a committed team called ‘ Maria Teresa Scrilli Public School’. We humbly salute our missionary leaders of the past and the great ones of the present and seek divine grace and blessings to guide us in all our endeavors.
On this special occasion of the 28th Annual Day of our school, I have great pleasure in greeting our esteemed guest of the day Hon. MLA Adv. V.D.Satheeshan sir, Municipal Chairman Sri. Ramesh D Kurup, Master Chedhan, Sri. Balakrishnan sir, Rev.Fr.Jackson our Parish priest, Rev.Sr. Mary Panikkassery our delegate superior, Sri. Denny Thomas the education standing committee chairman, Rev.Sr.Mary Antonyo the manager of the school, Sri. Jose sir, Head boy of the school master Rishikesh, Rev. Fathers, sisters, distinguished guests, parents, staff and students.
It is a matter of pride and pleasure that the academic year 2017-18 has been one in which Maria Teresa Scrilli Public School, Paravur had its moments of setting and crossing major milestones and lively celebrations with the blessings of blessed Maria Teresa Scrilli, our founders. Our school has kept abreast, meeting the challenges of today through incessant hard work, unyielding commitment to goals and intelligent execution of plans. I would like to commend the management, staff, students, PTA, and well wishers for shaping the institutions outstanding reputation.
On this occasion we gratefully remember and congratulate Rev. Sr. Mercy Kalarikkal, the former manager of the school for her fruitful services of the last three years. The Scrilli family remembers with gratitude Rev. Sr. Tharsily, the former teacher who made her final journey in to the eternal domain for her eternal repose.
In the beginning of this academic year we had conducted two orientation classes to update, enrich and empower the teachers. Parents, teacher gathering of each class were conducted in the month of July. Parents are allowed to meet the concerned teachers on all the Fridays from 3.30 to 4.30 p.m. The General body of the PTA was held on 11th of August and an executive body of 15 members were elected including the former members of the PTA. Mr. Raju Jose was re-elected as the president of the Association. The PTA strongly supports all the academic and non academic activities of the school. One of the PTA members Mrs. Devika sponsored Jerseys for the volley ball team of the school. The PTA also supervised cleanliness of the school.
Annual Day celebrations were held on 4th Feb 2017 at Vyaparabhavan auditorium. It was an annual event conducted more like a festival, enabling students to show their talents in the field of art and literature. The spiritual invocation of the ceremony was made by the Scrillians. Hon. MLA Adv. V.D.Satheeshan offered the presidential address. Municipal chairman Sri. Ramesh D Kurup, Rev.Sr. Mary Panikkassery, the delegate superior of the congregation, ward counselor Smt. Shine K.J., Kumari Brity Joy head girl of the school were felicitated on the occasion. Sri .Sippi Pallipuram, Kendra Sahithya Academy recipient delivered the key note address. Academic prizes were distributed by cine artist, Mr. Sunil Babu and Mr. Raju Jose the president of PTA rendered the vote of thanks.
A farewell party was organized for the 2016-17 pass out batch of students of Xth. Teachers and students shared their experiences and finally the school management and staff wished the students a great life ahead. This was followed by a trip to Chennai.
Leaving behind a successful academic year, we started our new academic year with an opening ceremony on day 3rd June 2017 with a Holy Mass by Rev. Fr. Clavelin, the Associate Director of Don Bosco Hospital, N.Paravur.
The fest of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the patroness of our school was celebrated on July 16th with a thanks giving Eucharist by Rev.Fr. Chrispin o窶冂arm. Afterwards the mass felicitation to the top scorers was held. Rev. Father honored 9 students who secured highest marks in CBSE exam by distributing prizes and trophies as a living memory of Scrilli School.
The inauguration of Kerala Catholic Students League (KCSL) was done by Rev. Fr. Jojo, the Director of KCSL in Kottapuram diocese.
Onam celebration this year was on an altogether grander scale than ever. There were various colorful programs. Students were treated to a Thiruvathirakali. But the highlight of the day was the nasadhya. All the students and staff enjoyed the tasty sadhya and the sumptuous payasam was distributed among the students.
On 15th August, we celebrated Independence Day with zeal and spirit benefitting the occasion. The celebration began in the school premises with the unfurling of the National flag by respected principal Sr.Siji. The students along with the principal, management and teachers took part in the procession arranged by the Paravur municipality. Street plays and tableaus on importance of Independence Day and on Hygiene and cleanliness (as part of Clean India) were showcased. With a colourful display of skits, dramas and mimes, the clubs were inaugurated and followed by an oath by the teachers for building team skills, co-operation and literacy skills in students.
The arts and sports competition of 2017 was conducted in the month of November. Our school celebrated the Kids fest in the midst of distinguished guests, teachers, parents and well-wishers on 10th Nov at Vyaparabhavan. The show comprised of various colourful dance performances, songs and skits by the students that left the audience mesmerized.
Christmas was celebrated in a grand manner on 22-12-2017. The whole programme was a story about the birth of Jesus, which had a fusion of over three songs and dances accompanied by keyboards. At the end of the program Santa Clause arrived and danced with everyone. Christmas cakes were distributed to all. On this occasion teachers, PTA members, nonteaching staffs along with management conducted various skits and shared gifts among each other.
Our school organized a picnic for classes I to VIII students in the month of January. The chosen venues for the picnic were Wagamon, Dream world, Silver storm etc. The students were extremely excited and everyone had a big smile on their faces indicating they had great fun.
Republic Day was celebrated by the staff and students of our school with patriotic fervour. Mr. Raju Jose our PTA president raised the national flag and our manager Rev. Sr. Mary Antonyo spoke to the gathering about the sanctity of the occasion. The students participated in the rally organized by the municipality and performed street play on a theme rug Free Kerala. The 68th Republic Day was celebrated in all its solemnity and grandeur by our school and our school also won II prize in the rally.
Several extracurricular activities were conducted during 2017-18 academic year. Members of different clubs organized variety programmes. Members of literary club celebrated literary week with programmes/events like collage making, book review, art gallery and quiz competition. The month of January also saw an enthusiastic debate on the topics age an important factor in relationship aimed at developing reasoning and public speaking skills of students. Members of science club had arranged a study tour to Alappuzha Medical collage for the IXth students. We hope that this endeavor shall not only broaden the horizon of students but also widen their knowledge about human body. Social club activities accompanied by teachers celebrated memorable days like Gandhi Jayanthi, Children day, Martyr day, etc. and organized an exhibition for UP and HS students. The students prepared various models and charts related to the topics given which made the exhibition more attractive and effective. The five arts classes in our school for karate, chess, yoga, dance and music provided an opportunity for the students to let their imagination and creativity run wild and to see things in a different way.

We are happy to share the details of the commendable performance put in by our 2016-17 batch of students of class X. Excellence in academics is the hall mark of any good institution and class X results of the school proved without any doubt that we are on right track. Our students have made us proud. The result was 100% with students(9) securing A1 in all subjects. By the grace of god and hard work we could maintain our mark of excellence in CBSE 10th Grade Examination 2016-17. We congratulate all the teachers and students who worked in collaboration to provide such excellent results. This year 35 students are preparing for 10th Grade Examination.
Our multi-talented students show cased their talent in CBSE Kalotsav-2017 under central Kerala Sahodaya at Muvattupuzha. It was a proud moment for all of us, when our students Rithul Jeevan of class IV bagged 1st position with A grade in English Elocution. He was then selected for CBSE State Kalotsav in English Elocution and secured A grade. Heartiest congratulations to our other students Archa Sasidharan, Ardra Maria, Gouri Sankar for securing A grades in CBSE Kalotsav.
Our students participated in various interschool Volley Ball tournaments and won meritorious position. The students brought laurels to the school by bagging 2nd prize in Junior Boys Volley Ball held at Sreenarayana Vidhyapeedam Public School at Thripunithura. Master Vyshnav was selected as the best player of the team. Master Jovin and Kumari Maria Thomas from UP section got 3rd prize in cookery competition conducted in SNGST collage at Manjali in association with Mathrubhumi.
October 10, 2017 will go down as a memorable day in the history of Scrilli School as it was on this day that the Mother General of INSC Congregation Rev. Sr. Angelisa visited the school and laid the foundation stone for the new block of Scrilli School at Peruvaram, a long cherished dream of Scrillians. The foundation was blessed by his Excellency Rt. Rev. Dr. Joseph Karikkassery, the Bishop of Kottapuram.
Scrilli School is a highly moral Christian institution with an innovative vision. Daily prayers, confession, Eucharistic prayer and retreat are conducted. Kerala Catholic Students League (KCSL) is very active in the school. The month of October was devoted to Mother of Rosary. The members of KCSL conducted Rosary on all working days. As part of Marian Day celebrations they arranged the tableau of the mystery of sorrow of the Rosary. The teachers and students from class X and VI visited the differently abled persons who are the inmates of Evangel ashramam at Koonammavu and provided clothes and various gifts of them.
On this happy occasion once again, we remember with gratitude all the parents and guardians, our benefactors and well wishers. Our special thanks to Mr. Jose, father of late Dr. Teja Jose our former student. He awarded Dr. Teja Memorial Trophy to Nandana, the best student from KG. To conclude, let us invoke the blessing of God Almighty, for new avenues to be explored and greater heights to be conquered. The new avenues of quest for knowledge and excellence to strive, to seek to find and not to yield.
